Abstract: With ever-increasing customer demands for a highly reliable supply of electric power and energy, distribution utilities must avail themselves of new technology and evolving design techniques to insure customer satisfaction. One of the newest and most effective ways to meet this challenge is through the use of fault location, isolation, sectionalizing & restoration (FLISR) at the medium voltage operating level.
Bio: Ernie Bowles currently serves as the Assistant General Manager and Director of Engineering & Operations for Clinton Utilities Board in Clinton, Tennessee. His experience includes over 31 years in the electric utility distribution industry focusing on medium voltage design and operating solutions. He received his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Tennessee and is a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State of Tennessee.
